"This is travelling diary. What comes to mind when you hear ‘Cambodia’? Many people might pause, wonder a bit, and answer “The Killing Fields” and “Angkor Wat”. You see, not so many people know about this country, and people do hold the opinion that Cambodia is not a place that they should visit. Cambodia suffered greatly at the hands of the extreme communist regime of the Khmer Rouge and the corresponding famine that their rule brought forth. However, despite suffering this great tragedy the people are trying very hard to rebuild the glory of their historic past. Some academics gathered together and calculated how long it would take for Cambodia to recover from its substantial loss of culture and development. They projected that it would take more than 100 years. Isn’t that amazing? The Khmer Rouge set their own country back more than a century. While travelling this country, we met a lot of people who suffered greatly from this cruel leadership and we felt tremendous pity for them. Their smiling faces could not hide their scars, but they are courageously trying their very best to move forward. to recover. We really hope they find true hope and happiness. Admittedly, travelling through Cambodia is not an easy thing, but braving these challenges allowed us to get a much more complete and honest look at this "
