책소개

《A Reflection on Life in Diplomacy》는 현대 한국의 대외관계 흐름을 객관적인 시각으로 볼 수 있도록 돕는다. 또한 외교관으로서 그리고 한 사람으로서의 개인적 삶과 경험을 담담하게 써 내려가고 있어 정보적인 면과 정서적인 면을 동시에 충족시켜준다.

저자소개

저자는 1980년대 중반에 외교부에 입문하여 30여년간 근무하면서 한국과 관련한 주요 대외관계의 변화와 흐름을 관찰한 느낌과 아시아, 중동, 유럽 등 해외근무중의 경험과 생각을 진솔하게 그리고 있다. 특히 외교관의 꽃이라고 하는 공관장(파푸아뉴기니대사와 시드니총영사)을 역임하면서 주재국과의 관계 증진과 동포사회의 위상 제고를 위해 노력하는 면을 보여주고 있다.
The author Lee Whiejin joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) of the Republic of Korea in 1984 and was posted to Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Papua New Guinea. He served as Ambassador to Papua New Guinea and Consul General in Sydney. The author can be contacted at wjlee5684@gmail.com.
